We decided that National Pie Week should be a week when we not only celebrate pies; but we also celebrate 'Peters' everywhere.
(Vocus/PRWEB) 9 March 2011
Peter’s, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of pies, pastries, rolls and slices, is putting a different twist on British Pie Week (March 7-13) by celebrating ‘Peters’ everywhere.
The nationwide appeal will seek to find the most deserving ‘Peters’ out there with those chosen receiving a hamper from Peter’s and a pie donation to their chosen charity.
Clare Morgan, Marketing Controller for Peter’s explains:
“We were talking about the fact that our founder, Peter Thomas, has had a remarkable entrepreneurial career, become a prominent figure in rugby union and, this month, will be launching the Nepal Challenge 2011 in aid of the NSPCC.
“We decided that National Pie Week should be a week when we not only celebrate pies; but we also celebrate ‘Peters’ everywhere.
“People may want to nominate themselves, a ‘Peter’ they know, or a famous ‘Peter’ that has had a big impact on their lives. The reason may be an amusing story, a significant achievement, or the pursuit of a good cause.
“Whatever it is, we’ll share their pain, salute their sacrifice, extol their virtues and reward their achievements. They may even find a place on our Peter’s Roll of Honour.
“In a nutshell, this is a moment when every ‘Peter’ in the nation can stand up, enjoy their moment in the sun and, maybe, receive a ridiculous amount of pies.”
Peter’s began life as a small savoury pastry manufacturer in South Wales. Today, it’s one of Britain’s best-loved brands of pies, pasties rolls and slices. The business produces over 3 million delicious pastries every week, including the British Pie Award’s Best Steak and Kidney pie.
Anyone wishing to be considered should visit the Peter’s Roll of Honour page at Peter's Foodservice.
