Aptara made our content much more presentable, searchable, and interactive for our customers and helped us successfully launch our app publishing program.
Falls Church, VA (Vocus/PRWEB) March 09, 2011
Aptara, a pioneer in digital publishing solutions, with over 20 years in the scientific, technical and medical (STM) publishing industry, designed and developed the recently released “Nursing Guide to Drugs” mobile application (app) for Elsevier Australia, Australia’s premier publisher of nursing, health professions and medical textbooks.
Available for both the iPhone and the iPad, the new “Guide to Drugs” app provides instant access to critical prescription information, including dosages, proper administration, possible side effects, and drug interaction alerts. It is a practical, portable expert reference guide for nurses, as well as a companion to the bestselling reference text of the same name by Adriana Tiziani.
“Elsevier is leading the way with educational apps in the Australian market,” said Dev Ganesan, President and CEO, Aptara. “It’s rewarding to know how successful this new custom app has been in such a short time on the market. From storyboarding, to instructional design, graphic design, and mobile development, our teams drew on their publishing and medical domain experience to create an engaging and easy-to-use custom app for one of Elsevier’s biggest titles.”
“It was great working with Aptara on this project. They made our content much more presentable, searchable, and interactive for our customers,” said Helena Klijn of Elsevier Australia, “and helped us successfully launch our app publishing program.”
The “Nursing Guide to Drugs” can be purchased through iTunes, or for those who have already purchased the book, the app can be downloaded for free. To make this possible, Aptara designed a custom web-interface for Elsevier which validates unique PIN codes distributed with the book.
