Lord, Sometimes You Love Me Like a Man Who’s Done Me Wrong, a new book by Trudie Nash, has been released by Dorrance Publishing Co., Inc.
Inspired by the emotional turmoil of relationships with both the mortal and immortal, this collection by Trudie Nash is a “slightly sensual” look at interactions between men and women based loosely on the Songs of Solomon. By evoking a personal struggle with a God who sometimes seems distant and uncaring, she draws comparisons to the feelings aroused by a seemingly disinterested man. Many of the poems begin in the natural, and then revelation brings understanding and “mortal takes on immortal.”
A skillful combination of her strong faith with her love for writing, her words convey emotions of rejection and loneliness, but also those of absolute fulfillment and love. Interspersed with her tone of longing are verses of praise and an overall reflection of her faith, both in God and in love.
Author Trudie Nash is a Charlotte, North Carolina native but has spent the past thirty-five years in Greenville, South Carolina, where she now resides with her husband, Jamie, and her daughter, Jamila. She holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Winston-Salem State University and a master’s degree in divergent learning from Columbia College. Trudie also enjoys reading and singing.
