Author Ernest R. Hurtado teaches young readers a valuable lesson as he pens Freddy the Unfixer, a vibrant picture book made available through Xlibris. This children’s book is based on a true occurrence when the author was teaching second grade at a local school district.
Freddy receives a toolkit for his birthday and is very excited to use his new tools for the first time. He must have gotten the wrong message when he proceeded to remove screws throughout the classroom. This was the first time he experienced unraveling screws using his Phillips screwdriver.
Young children are very curious and enjoy exploring new things that just may fall onto their laps. This is exactly what happened to Freddy when he proceeded to use his tools. This book teaches parents and guardians on what to do when their young ones do this. In most cases, the correctional phase should always be full of learning and positive reinforcements.
