Our research flagged several short term hurdles for marketers that will make it difficult to scale their mobile programs without resolution
Portland, OR (Vocus/PRWEB) March 10, 2011
On March 30th, White Horse will offer the “5 Breakaway Mobile Marketing Insights” webinar to share insights for mobile marketing success in 2011. The webinar is based on the White Horse Digital Futures Group’s recent survey of 427 US smartphone users.
Among a list of five key findings the Webinar will address, the survey showed a surprisingly weak attraction among smartphone users to location-based mobile services. Sixty percent of active smartphone users don’t use location-based services and among those non-users, 70% aren’t aware of the apps or don’t fully understand what they do. Of the location-based services in use, Facebook Places is the favorite with 43.1% adoption.
Webinar presenters Will Reese, Ph.D., a cultural anthropologist who leads the Digital Futures Group, and Jamie Beckland, Director of Emerging Media, will delve into the findings to identify opportunities for mobile marketing acceleration. The webinar will include ways for marketers to improve mobile marketing results through closer collaboration with location-based service providers and stronger social network integration of location-based tools.
White Horse believes that marketers can play a vital role in increasing broader use of location-based services with a deeper understanding of smartphone users and a willingness to help define mobile experiences that lend value in a user-controlled environment. “Our research flagged several short term hurdles for marketers that will make it difficult to scale their mobile programs without resolution,” said Reese. The White Horse Digital Futures Group provides interpretation of technology trends to help brands to adapt their strategic thinking to keep pace with changing consumer behavior.
Registration is now open for the 5 Breakaway Mobile Marketing Insights webinar. By signing up, you will automatically receive a copy of the full research report. This is the first in a planned series of mobile marketing research efforts that will be produced by White Horse’s new Digital Futures Group.
