B. E. Smith today announced Teresa Collins has joined the firm as vice president, executive search. With 27 years of experience in healthcare as a clinician and more than 16 years of executive leadership experience, Collins will assume her new duties at B. E. Smith immediately.

In her new role, Collins will lead national search engagements for executive healthcare positions. She joins a team of seasoned executive search consultants at B. E. Smith, Collins served as chief nursing officer (CNO) at Truman Medical Centers in Kansas City, Mo., where she was responsible for corporate administration of nursing service and clinical programs, as well as developing new service lines. During her leadership tenure at Truman Medical Centers, she led a national model of innovation in providing accessible, cost-effective, quality care within an organization that has received top clinical quality ratings from University Health System Consortium in numerous areas, including patient safety and performance improvement. Prior to joining Truman Medical Centers, Collins achieved a track record of leadership success in the for-profit sector with HCA.
Collins earned a master’s of business administration from the University of Phoenix in Kansas City and a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Webster University in Saint Louis, Missouri. She is a Registered Nurse (RN), Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) and Nurse Executive Advanced-Board Certified (NEA-BC). Collins is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives and Kansas City Nurse Executives.
