PamplonaBalconies.com and PamplonaHousing.com today announced their agreement with PersonalPhilanthropy.org, a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization, to donate all proceeds from the 2011 Running of the Bulls to development projects in Peru. This unique partnership will allow party-goers, headed to the San Fermin festival in July, to enjoy the ancient Spanish fiesta while supporting programs benefitting women, children and young entrepreneurs.

The Running of the Bulls attracts more than 1.5 million visitors to Pamplona each year, most of whom come to watch the bull run that is held each morning at 8:00 a.m. from July 7th through the 14th. Typically, runners will ask their family or friends to rent a balcony spot along the route to make sure their run is immortalized in photos or videos. The route begins at the bottom of Santo Domingo Street, turns onto Mercaderes Street in front of the Ayuntamiento (town hall), and then heads into the long final stretch when Dead Man’s Corner takes them onto Estafeta Street.

The huge influx of people to this relatively small, ancient Spanish town poses a challenge to the revelers - most hotels in Pamplona are booked well in-advance, and booking balconies along the bull run route can be a challenge if you don’t speak Spanish. “When I first ran with the bulls in 2004, I had no help at all finding a place to stay,” says Mark Regouby, Founder of PamplonaBalconies.com and PamplonaHousing.com. “That’s why I started these businesses.”

Regouby went on to say, “We are proud to link the fun our clients have in Pamplona with the important work going on in Peru. We hope this partnership changes lives for the better - our clients, for having the opportunity to be a part of something special, and our neighbors in Peru, whose lives are propelled forward by these projects.” Jil Hellmann, Co-founder of PersonalPhilanthropy.org said, “Our Local Heroes in Peru work tirelessly to give opportunity to the people in their communities. It is an honor to work alongside them. It is also encouraging to see for-profit businesses get involved in Social Enterprise. This is a model we hope to promote with other business partners. We look forward to the impact, Run With a Purpose will have.”

PersonalPhilanthropy.org is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that seeks to give opportunity to neighbors in the developing world. Working through pre-selected “Local Heroes”, the organization supports sustainable development practices in four different communities in Peru, ranging from micro-finance, social entrepreneurship, education, health and wellness, and vocational training.
