Jay Lehr, Ph.D., science director at the Chicago-based Heartland Institute, is available for on-air comment as the story of the disaster in Japan continues to develop. Dr. Lehr is an internationally renowned speaker, scientist, and author who has testified before Congress on more than three dozen occasions, and has consulted for nearly every agency of the federal government and with many foreign countries. He is the author or coauthor of 30 books, including the "Encyclopedia of Nuclear Power" and "Nuclear Energy," slated for release this spring.

After graduating from Princeton University at the age of 20 with a degree in Geological Engineering, he went on to receive the nation’s first Ph.D. in Groundwater Hydrology from the University of Arizona.
