About the Author
Gerald Petersen earned a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in economics with an undergraduate minor in history. A veteran of service in Vietnam on board a destroyer in the United States Navy, he thinks of himself as a “tin-can sailor.” Retiring after a varied career with financial institutions, a university, small business ownership, and the Department of Defense, Mr. Petersen now had the time to do the research to find answers to a myriad of questions which in turn led to the writing of this book. This is only the beginning in his quest to learn more about the American heritage.
