The Professional Tour Caddies of America (PTCA) association continues to endorse Leupold’s® GX® as its official rangefinder.

The PTCA, which first endorsed GX in 2009, is the official association of PGA TOUR caddies. Since mid-January, more than 80 caddies have agreed to use the GX in preparation for all 2011 PGA TOUR events. To date, these caddies have been involved in three tournament victories and one third-place finish.

“GX’s advanced technology and performance have earned the PTCA endorsement and commitments from many professional caddies on the PGA TOUR to use this rangefinder in practice rounds and other preparations for tournament play,” commented Andy York, Leupold’s vice president of sales, marketing and technology. “The caddies as well as PGA TOUR professionals such as Boo Weekley and golfers of all skill levels use GX rangefinders day in and day out to give them the most precise, personalized range on the course.”

In response to market success and demand for GX, Leupold & Stevens, Inc. has signed a new extended long-term contract with P&M Global to continue to assist with nationwide sales and marketing of the product. P&M Global, LLC, which began its association with Leupold in 2008, is a sales, marketing, media and sourcing agency with more than 50 years experience in both the OEM and retail sporting goods business. The agency now has more than 35 sales reps employed across the country to promote and service the GX line.

Four models comprise the GX line. The GX-1 provides tournament-legal line-of-sight measurement. GX-2 is loaded with advanced smart technology such as Leupold’s True Golf Range (TGR®) and Club Selector™ features. The tournament-legal GX-3 is the most compact model in the series, weighing less than 8 ounces. GX-4 offers enhanced versatility with a removable Smart Key™ that adds the benefits of TGR and Club Selector only as needed.

Designed to deliver the most precise distance measurement on golf courses, all GX models utilize advanced microprocessing circuitry and an infrared laser to accurately and consistently hunt down the pin in virtually any weather conditions.

All GX models feature PinHunter® Laser Technology, which effectively filters out large background objects and zeroes in on the flag or pin for extremely precise and fast target acquisition. Golfers can select from a number of aiming reticles, choosing the one that works best for the intended target and usage.

Other key features common to all models include Prism Lock Technology™ and fog mode. When GX is in scan mode, Prism Lock Technology makes an audible beep upon identifying a high-intensity return from flagsticks equipped with specialized prisms, which are utilized by many golf courses around the country. With Prism Lock Technology, holding the rangefinder steady becomes less of a concern, and exact distance measurement is assured. Fog mode enables GX to cut through mist and provide fast, accurate distance measurements.

The TGR and Club Selector features of the GX-2 and GX-4 (with Smart Key activated) provide accurate ranging information matched to the slope of the shot, atmospheric conditions and a golfer’s specific striking distance.
