Tucson, AZ (Vocus/PRWEB) March 16, 2011
SynCardia Systems, Inc. announced today that the longest running health and wellness series on public television, “Healthy Body, Healthy Mind” has produced a 30-minute program featuring the world’s first and only FDA, Health Canada and CE approved Total Artificial Heart: the SynCardia temporary Total Artificial Heart. The program, titled “Saving Lives with the Total Artificial Heart” can be viewed by clicking here.
Healthy Body, Healthy Mind Program Description: “Heart transplantation is often the last resort for a person who has a diseased heart. Unfortunately, the number of people who would benefit from a donor heart exceeds the number of donor hearts available. To help balance this reality, innovative medical professionals have been working for decades to develop the Total Artificial Heart, to be a ‘bridge to transplant’, and keep patients alive until that donor heart becomes available. In this program, we’ll discuss how a normal heart works, how heart failure can develop, and when the Total Artificial Heart is needed. We’ll take you behind the scenes of how the Total Artificial Heart works, and hear success stories from the patients who have received the Total Artificial Heart.” Watch video
