EWI Worldwide, a global, live communications company, announces the appointment of Agnès Canonica, CMP, CMM, as the executive director of strategic markets within its Events Division. Canonica will be responsible for delivering life sciences events for pharmaceutical brands around the world, while also spearheading meetings and live communications programs across various industries within the Latin American market.

Fluent in three languages, Canonica has nearly 20 years of international expertise in strategic event, meeting and incentive planning, with firsthand experience and intricate knowledge of producing pharmaceutical events throughout Latin America. She is a member of Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association and an active speaker on international and life science topics in the meetings industry. Prior to joining EWI Worldwide, Canonica led global event programs for many brands including Pfizer, Abbott, Takeda, Nestlé and Kraft Foods.

In this role, Canonica will also help develop other types of events including seminar series, developer forums, multi-city tours, award, VIP and incentive programs, sporting and concert events. Canonica’s next speaking engagement is scheduled for March 28, 2011, at the CBI 7th Annual Pharmaceutical Meeting Management Forum in Philadelphia, PA where she’ll address international events and regulatory compliance.
