In addition to increasing mileage caps, Preferred Warranties’ top-of-the-line plan protects many new high tech automotive systems and components

As automotive technology speeds into the future, at least one provider of protection plans for pre-owned vehicles is keeping right in stride. Introduced on March 21, 2011, the new top-of-the-line Premier Plan from Preferred Warranties, Inc offers coverage on a wider range of parts and service needs, including many new high tech systems and components.

“The coverage is so extensive that we’ve gone to an exclusionary contract,” says Wayne Herring, Jr., PWI’s national sales manager. “It lists the few items NOT covered by the Premier Plan. If a component or problem is not on that list, this plan covers it.”

The new plan covers such diverse items as factory-installed navigation, rear entertainment and audio systems, hybrid electric motors and generators, transmission control modules and tire pressure-monitoring sensors. Big-ticket diesel items such as coolers for EGR, engine oil and transmission coolers are now covered. The new plan also increases allowances on vehicle rentals.

The Premier Plan, which replaces the Optimum Plan that PWI introduced in 2003, also pays for the repair, replacement, adjustment and alignment of parts technically not covered by the contract when they are done in conjunction with a qualified repair. For example, if a covered repair is made on a steering rack, PWI will also pay for wheel alignment, which typically is not covered by a warranty.

Preferred Warranties, Inc has been a quality leader in aftermarket vehicle protection plans since the company was founded in 1992. In 1998, it was ranked #179 on the Inc. 500 list of fastest growing U.S. companies and earned a Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics from the Better Business Bureau. The company continues to be rated A+ by the BBB. Today, Preferred Warranties are available through dealerships in 16 states: Alabama, Delaware, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.
