“He’s a thought leader, he motivates audiences and he inspires them to action. It’s a great complement to the work our authors and facilitators do with educators throughout the year—and it’s a great way to kick off this event,” said Jeff Jones.

Solution Tree, a professional development company for educators, announced today that world-renowned author Daniel Pink will keynote Authorspeak: The Voices of Solution Tree, a new annual event.
Daniel Pink is author of four best-selling books about the changing world of work, including Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us and A Whole New Mind: Why Right-Brainers Will Rule the Future. His books, which have been translated into 29 languages, have sold more than one million copies worldwide. Pink also delivered a TEDTalk on the surprising science of motivation. He will bring a combination of motivation and inspiration to Authorspeak.
Authorspeak will bring together 99 Solution Tree authors and thousands of educators for three days of intensive professional development, November 1–3, 2011, in Indianapolis. The new event is designed to help teachers and administrators gain practical strategies to apply to some of today’s toughest challenges and hot topics in education.
Authorspeak is organized around 10 strands: 21st century skills, assessment, instruction, leadership, literacy, principals, professional learning communities (PLCs), response to intervention (RTI), special populations and school improvement. The 99 Solution Tree authors will share information from their latest books and cutting-edge research during 45-minute breakout sessions. Attendees can choose to attend one topical track or mix and match to customize their own professional development experience. More than 70 breakout sessions will be supplemented with lunchtime panels and opportunities for informal networking and collaboration.
“We’re thrilled that Daniel Pink will be opening Authorspeak. He’s a thought leader, he motivates audiences and he inspires them to action. It’s a great complement to the work our authors and facilitators do with educators throughout the year—and it’s a great way to kick off this event,” said Jeff Jones, president and CEO of Solution Tree.
