The 2011 Mazda 3 was named the recipient of a “Top Safety Pick” by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). This vehicle has received the highest possible crash safety rating of ‘Good’ in all four of the tests that were performed on it.

The Mazda 3 Sedan and Hatchback models have both earned the safety pick for the 2011 models. Mazda has shown its tremendous commitment to safety and its customers through the Mazda 3 and its safety awards.

To earn a “Top Safety Pick” a car must score the highest score of ‘Good’ on front, side and rear impact crash tests, as well as a roof strength test that measures occupant protection in the event of a rollover. To be eligible for the honor a vehicle must also be equipped with Electronic Stability Control.
