When the staff at Briggs Auto Group was asked about what was selling quickly, they mentioned that more and more people were looking for a 4-cylinder engine because they were more fuel efficient. At Briggs Auto Group - the leading dealer group in Kansas with eight great locations - they know what they are talking about.

New technology is making 4-cylinder engines more powerful while offering better and better fuel efficiency. For those who want power, performance and practical fuel economy, GM has quite a few models available. They are committed to giving the public what they want.

“Chevrolet’s investment in advanced engine technology is reflected in the increased popularity of our four-cylinder models,” said Rick Scheidt, U.S. vice president, Chevrolet.

“These technologies offer the performance and refinement drivers expect from Chevy in smaller engines that deliver the fuel efficiency they want.”

Many customers are going from V8 powered SUVs and trucks and switching to V6 powered crossovers (Traverse) and even from V6 cars and crossovers to more fuel-efficient four-cylinder GM models like the Cruze, Malibu, and Equinox.

“The shift in consumer preference evidenced by Chevrolet’s lineup is a great example of how much four-cylinder engines have improved across the industry,” said Bill Visnic, analyst and senior editor for Edmunds

“Four cylinders used to be something to settle for. But advances in engine design and technology have made four-cylinder engines vastly more refined, and power output has increased to where V-6 engines were just a few years ago.”

If you look at the Chevy Cruze, which gets 42 MPG on the highway, you can see that a lot of work has gone into making four cylinder engines more prevalent and even exciting. When looking at some of the other great GM 4 cylinder models, this is backed up even more.

There are many people who still want a powerful car, but as gas prices continue to rise, more and more are looking at more fuel efficient options and GM is going to deliver the cars that give great fuel economy.

Those who want to see the new Chevy Cruze or any of the other great new 2011 models from GM, there is one place to go. Briggs Auto Group - the leading dealership group in Kansas - is the place to go for the Chevy Cruze or any of the other great 4-cylinder cars that are now available.
