Business partners, Russ Rieger and son Nolan Rieger, are pleased to announce the publication of their brand-new business blog, http://www.FishinTalk.com. Launched in February 2011, the blog was developed to complement their online store with valuable fishing tips and exciting destination recommendations for freshwater and saltwater fishing excursions. This social platform will also provide essential product details for the complete line of Pelican Lures: casting spoons, trolling spoons, jigging lures and musky blades.

“My wife, Andrea, and I have always enjoyed fishing and, several years ago, we started making our own fishing lures as a hobby. Soon we were selling them to local tackle supply stores. We started out with a simple fishing spoon and then with an enhanced technology, which we have coined Dura-Tech, we were able to develop top-of-the-line fishing lures of an assorted variety – then we were really in business,” Russ said.

At http://www.PelicanLureTackle.com shoppers are invited to discover a premium variety of custom-designed fishing tackle. The technology used to create the Pelican Lures is very different from the traditional fishing lure. These products guarantee durability, function and have scratch and fade resistant qualities. The images that appear on each lure are authentic representations of fish and nature taken from a digital picture and transposed onto the front and back of each lure along with a metallic flake to add shimmer in the water.

“We’ve developed a simple rejuvenation procedure to keep our lures glossy and vibrant year round, we call is ‘Spring Bake.’ Preheat your oven to 400 degrees and then place the Pelican Lures on a baking sheet and ‘Bake’ them for 2-3 minutes,” Russ said.

The website also delivers Pelican Lures that depict artistic images; choose from abstract, art or flag series. Additionally, Russ states they are happy to satisfy the request of custom fishing lures. In fact, they’ve produced custom Pelican Lures fishing clubs, as wedding favors, personalized gifts and promotional materials for businesses. They will even create custom lures to match a specific fish in the customer’s region. The sky is the limit with what they can create.

“The technology behind the basic fishing spoon hasn’t changed in about 100 years. In 2004 we developed Pelican Lures to provide the fisherman with some exciting new tackle, which clearly represents nature and has a much more durable finish, giving the angler an alternate choice in lures,” Russ said.

All Pelican Lures are available in assorted shapes, sizes and patterns, including the option for custom orders. The Riegers always welcome customer feedback and requests, so don’t hesitate to satisfy any curiosity.
