Alexandria, VA (PRWEB) March 29, 2011
For the 11th consecutive year, SENTEL Corp., a global engineering and software company that provides engineering products and services to the federal government and military, has achieved CMMI ® Level 2 in several key business processes, including configuration management, project planning, and process and produce quality assurance.
SENTEL achieved Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 2 by the Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI SM) Class A. This accomplishment means that SENTEL has once again reached a high level of product and process engineering quality that organizations apply to achieve business objectives. It guides process improvements across a project, a division, or an entire organization.
The Systems and Software Consortium Inc. (SSCI) of Reston, VA, led the 8-day SCAMPI assessment, which involved the review of more than 1,500 artifacts from company projects, including plans, reviews, and communications. SSCI is authorized by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI), a federally funded research and development center based at Carnegie Mellon University, and developers of the CMMI, to conduct this rigorous appraisal.
“We are pleased once again to be recognized for the careful attention we give to process creation and process improvement at SENTEL,” said company president and CEO Darrell Crapps. “The CMMI designation reflects our continuous commitment to the highest standards possible.”
CMMI is a registered trademark of Carnegie Mellon University.
