More British homeowners are opting to purchase more environment friendly bathroom accessories, which points to a growing awareness of carbon emissions and rising utilities costs, say BetterBathrooms.com.

...British consumers are increasingly turning to accessories that won’t use up too much energy, such as energy saving bulbs and low-flow toilets.

Natalie Perry, a leading British interior designer, has revealed that the latest trends in bathroom accessories shows that British consumers are becoming more aware of their impact on the environment. The trend shows that Brits are increasingly turning to technology and environmentally-friendly DIY solutions in their bathrooms, proof that people are becoming more aware of how their energy use will affect the environment, say BetterBathrooms.com.

Pete Robertshaw, chief news editor at Better Bathrooms says: “Energy costs have risen steadily over the past few years, with some people unfortunately experiencing severe price hikes due to the soaring cost of fuel, so it comes as no surprise to hear that British consumers are increasingly turning to accessories that won’t use up too much energy, such as energy saving bulbs and low-flow toilets. However, regardless of the cost of energy, it appears that consumers have become more aware of the impact that their actions have on the planet, which can only be a good thing.”

While it may seem like British consumers may be turning to more green technologies out of necessity rather than choice, Perry’s announcement is interesting, as it reveals that Brits may be beginning to make such big decisions about their home, and the way they live based on political and economic factors.

Robertshaw continues: “At BetterBathrooms.com, we understand that everyone wants to save money, but it was only relatively recently that people started wising up to how much money and energy that a poorly designed bathroom suite can waste. Leaky bathroom taps and shower heads are sometimes the biggest culprits when it comes to water wastage, so it’s really good to see that consumers are starting to put a lot more thought into the long term effects of their energy use, and making steps to improve the environment and their bank accounts.”
