Miami (Vocus/PRWEB) March 30, 2011
For private industry, the 2010 Census contains data that businesses will use to improve their target marketing efforts. An upcoming April 5th webinar will feature experts who highlight key data from the 2010 Census that is now available, and how its value extends far beyond congressional apportionment and distribution of federal funds, detailing how businesses can leverage key demographic data from the Census as well as other resources. The live webinar, hosted by Geoscape, the Census Bureau, and the American Marketing Association, is titled “The 2010 US Census: Learn What’s New and How to Improve and Localize Your Target Marketing.”
Moderated by Ms. Anna Carbonara of the American Marketing Association, the webinar will feature two key experts in practical applications of the Census data. Mr. Raul Cisneros, Chief of Media Relations for the US Census Bureau is a recognized expert in the wealth of information available from the Census and the American Community Surveys. He will provide insights into the information available, how it was gathered, and how this data can improve your understanding of the American populace.
Mr. Cesar Melgoza, founder and CEO of Geoscape, is also a featured speaker. A recognized expert in multicultural marketing, Mr. Melgoza heads a key provider of software and commercial data used by analysts and marketing professionals such as advertising agencies, consumer companies, retailers, and business analysts. He will discuss demographic shifts taking place and how to best couple the Census with available commercial data and technology resources.
“Last year advertisers spent more than $151 Billion trying to get the attention of the 308 million people who now reside in the United States, ” Mr. Melgoza said. “The 2010 US Census data as well as the American Community Survey data and Geoscape resources can help businesses to better understand the diverse nature of the new American mainstream consumer marketplace.”
The seminar will answer key questions that include:
- Where are the areas of greatest population growth/change over the past ten years?
- How can retail, CPG and other consumer-based businesses benefit from an in-depth study of the increasingly diverse culture of the US population?
- While the 2010 Census data is limited in its scope, how easily can it be linked with more in-depth information on local populations and market opportunities?
The webinar is part of a series of thought-leadership webinars presented by Geoscape’s Savvy University, helping to foster an environment for business professionals that is conducive to learning, information sharing and stimulated discussion. The American Marketing Association provides ongoing resources to marketing professionals, including webinars with industry experts. The Census Bureau provides outreach and resources to enable full use of the data it gathers as part of its once-in-a-decade effort.
