Adam Hartung, international consultant and author of "Create Marketplace Disruption: How to Stay Ahead of the Competition," will deliver the closing keynote at the Exhibition and Convention Executives Forum (ECEF).

ECEF takes place Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at the JW Marriott in Washington, DC.

“Adam Hurtung encourages executives to shake things up in order to make their events more profitable and relevant,” says Sam Lippman, producer of ECEF. “Some executives think they can grow an event simply by delivering more, but they can’t. That’s execution—easy for competitors to copy. Executives who succeed are those who embrace disruption, create it within their own teams and take the innovations that result to market.”

Hartung joins five other experts presenting at ECEF.

In his keynote, Paul DiModica, CEO, Value Forward Group, will share exclusive research demonstrating the most effective ways to penetrate C-suites, connect with top executives, and provide the justifications they need to invest in events.

Mary Pat Heftman, EVP, Convention, National Restaurant Association, will reveal the strategy behind her association’s investment in, and reorganization of, its sales and marketing staff.

Hal Vandiver, EVP, Business Development, Material Handling Institute of America, will present a case study of ProMat that demonstrates simple methods for predicting the financial outcome of future events using business cycles and economic forecasts.

Helen Marano, Director, Office of Travel and Tourism Industries, US Department of Commerce, and Bridger McGaw, Director, Office of Private Sector, Department of Homeland Security, will report the government’s latest efforts to ease travel restrictions and provide actionable tips for helping international exhibitors and attendees.

ECEF is made possible in part thanks to sponsors. ECEF 2011’s sponsors are Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (Platinum); Freeman (Gold); Fixation Marketing (Silver); a2z, Inc.; Airway Freight; Ascend Integrated Media; ASP; Astute; Berkery Noyes Investment Bankers; CompuSystems; Convention Data Services; Cross Media Resources; Exhibitor Invites; Experient; EXPOCAD®; The Expo Group; JW Marriott; Global Experience Specialists (GES); IMN Solutions; Jacobs, Jenner & Kent Market Research; Map Your Show; Maritz; onPeak; Pico; Singapore Expo; USI; and Wheelhouse Solutions.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2011, ECEF is the world’s only forum exclusively for business media and association executives. For one day each year, this invitation-only event gathers 200 leaders of the exhibition and convention industry to focus on fundamental ways to increase revenues and the relevance of their events.
