Award-winning strategic content agency Seven Squared has announced a management restructure as part of its rebranding as Seven. The restructure follows Seven’s success in transforming from one of the UK’s leading contract publishers, to one of the most dynamic multi-platform strategic content agencies in the industry.

CEO Sean King has made a number of senior management changes at Seven, including: Jessica Gibson as Client Director, Nic McCarthy as Content Director, Mike Burgess as Digital Development Director, Kevin Sutherland as Strategy Director,
Peter Dean as Editorial Director, Business, and Steve Daykin as Chief Operating Officer (as well as being Chief Finance Officer).

Nic McCarthy, now Content Director at Seven, was previously Editor of OK! Magazine, Eve Magazine and US Weekly in New York.

Jessica Gibson, ex-Publisher of Eve Magazine, was formerly Group Account Director at Seven, working on the management of the Guardian commercial business. Jessica was previously Group Account Director at Redwood.
Mike Burgess has moved up from Head of Digital. With three years at Seven, and nine years as a senior manager at EMAP’s digital business, Mike continues to lead the content agency’s push into digital and mobile content, positioning Seven as a leader in the digital publishing field.

Kevin Sutherland, now Strategy Director, was previously Client Services Director at Seven for three years, and Planning Director at both John Brown and Redwood.
Peter Dean, co-founder of Square One, which was sold to Seven in 2007, will now head up Seven’s business-to-business operations as Editorial Director. Existing business clients of Seven include the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Alliance Healthcare and Lloyds Corporate.

Steve Daykin, who is also the Chief Finance Officer, joined the group in 2005 and has overseen the acquisitions of New Crane (Delia Smith’s publishing company and Sainsbury’s publisher) and Square One. A qualified accountant, Steve has worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in business advisory and corporate finance, and also has more than 10 years’ experience as a Plc director in regional media.

The restructure follows the rebranding of the fast-growing strategic content agency, including a complete redesign of the group’s website.

Sean King said: “Over the past three years, Seven has seen itself change dramatically. Once known as one of the UK’s leading contract publishers, we are now viewed as one of the most dynamic multi-platform strategic content agencies in the industry.”

“These management changes are designed to ensure that we are able to maximise our position in the marketplace. We want Seven to be the go-to agency for brands looking to develop and implement ground-breaking multi-channel content strategies. We have the best management team in the industry and our aim is to capitalise on the growing trend towards brands creating owned and earned media, over bought, across all platforms.”
