Author Solutions, Inc., the world leader in indie book publishing, has declared October Indie Author Month and announced several events and initiatives in support of this celebration.

On October 14 and 15, ASI will host the inaugural Indie Author Conference in Indianapolis. The conference will feature a slate of speakers, including Thomas Nelson President Michael Hyatt and indie author turned New York Times bestseller Lisa Genova. Attendees also will participate in workshops with leading literary agents and thought leaders in book marketing and promotion. Other speakers and special guests will be announced in the coming months.

“The Indie Author Conference is a unique event in publishing, as its mission is to exclusively serve authors who have helped transform publishing. We’re pleased to offer these authors this opportunity to meet with other authors and publishing thought leaders to share their successes,” said Kevin Weiss, ASI CEO and president.

In addition to the Indie Author Conference, ASI will host 100 book signings with authors at 100 locations across North America, including libraries, chain and independent bookstores, and book fairs. The book signing blitz kicks off ASI’s efforts to support author outreach throughout the U.S. and Canada.

“We are going to equip and encourage the nearly 100,000 authors who have published with ASI to reach out to their communities at schools, nursing homes and libraries, to share their work with readers,” Weiss said.
