More than $350,000 was raised to support the Boys & Girls Club of Michigan

“The Piston Care Telethon is an event that the entire Fathead team is really passionate about and we challenge ourselves each year to do all we can to support these great kids,” said Patrick McInnis, CEO of Fathead.

Quicken Loans, Inc. and its family of companies, including Fathead, LLC, raised $24,000 for the 2011 Pistons Care Telethon benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of Michigan, held March 18, 2011. With the help of Fathead CEO Patrick McInnis, who is also a board member of the Flint Boys & Girls Club, the contribution helped the 18-hour donation drive and telecast raise more than $350,000 in pledges.

“The Piston Care Telethon is an event that the entire Fathead team is really passionate about and we challenge ourselves each year to do all we can to support these great kids,” said McInnis. “It’s amazing to see the impact that this one day event can make in positively shaping the kids of the Boys & Girls Club for an entire year and hopefully providing them with tools that will last much longer.”

Net proceeds from the 2011 Pistons Care Telethon will be distributed among the 35 Boys & Girls Club locations across the state of Michigan. The pledge total will fund more than 7,000 Boys & Girls Club annual memberships as well as support the cost of programming for youth in need.

Pistons partners Fathead, Amway, Marathon Oil Corporation, Powers Distributing, POH Regional Medical Center, Allstate, and Belle Tire all contributed to the cause, as did the team’s television partner Fox Sports Detroit. Area media donated advertising space and airtime for the Telethon and entertainers including Bob Seger, Kid Rock, Eminem, Rihanna, Usher and Jimmy Buffett supported the event.
