For nearly 70 years, the American Diabetes Association has been the foundation for diabetes education, advocacy and research. “Share, Act, Learn and Give” – these are the guiding actions of the Stop Diabetes campaign, and ThirsTea™ is again a proud participant in this national movement.
The purpose of the campaign, through regional one-day expos, is to provide information on coping with the disease to individuals diagnosed with diabetes along with their families. ThirsTea™ has committed to participate in the following cities in 2011: Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Antonio, Springdale, AR, and Minneapolis.
“These expos provide the perfect vehicle for interacting with individuals and families fighting the disease,” stated Ray Welch, president of ThirsTea™ Corporation, “Our sugar-free beverages have been accepted by the foodservice industry for years, this gives us the opportunity to reach a completely different market segment.”
The ThirsTea™ product line includes sugar-free liquid concentrates in a variety of flavors and offers consumers and businesses an alternative in their beverage selection. “There are nearly 6 million people living with Type 2 diabetes in the United States alone. We felt it was important to help support the educational efforts of the American Diabetes Association through these regional outreach expos,” said Welch.
ThirsTea™ will soon introduce their newest product line – a “home-use” liquid concentrate that will allow customers to make 64 oz of sugar-free beverages at home, quickly and easily. “We have always been a foodservice beverage company,” said Welch, “but we realize individuals don’t necessarily want to make 3 gallons of beverage at a time. This product line will open a brand new market and allow us to continue supporting the efforts of the American Diabetes Association.”
