Logistics veteran Steve Hitchcock has been named Director of Administration of Duncan and Son Lines, Inc. Hitchcock will report to Rick Duncan, III, President/CEO of the company.
Duncan & Son Lines has become the largest intermodal transportation mover of international containers moving international cargoes between the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach to and from areas in Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, California, Texas and Northern Mexico.
Prior to joining Duncan and Son, Hitchcock served as General Manager of Home Meridian International's west coast operations. He has held positions in logistics, operations, supply chain, purchasing, and financial services during his 15+ year career.
In making the announcement, Duncan said "the addition of Steve to our management team will enable us to use his many skills and talents to assist with the recent growth that has made us a leading provider of transportation and logistics services in the southwest. Steve's joining our team comes at an opportune time.
We have just completed a major project where we invested significant resources (both financial and human) in hardware and software specific to the trucking industry. This cutting-edge technology will enable us to take a proactive position in fleet maintenance and cost controls."
Hitchcock commented, "This is a great opportunity for me. I've worked with and observed Duncan and Son from the customer point of view for the past five years. Their ability to be flexible and responsive was a huge draw. Their resources and financial stability create an environment where the biggest jobs can be taken on and growth can be realized. I believe we are positioned for growth on many fronts - regional drayage, equipment yards, dry vans... Our core values and commitment to technological solutions are the differentiating factors that make us a formidable competitor. I look forward to being a part of this winning team."
Hitchcock, his wife Annette, and their two sons will be relocating to the west valley.
