Technicians to provide installation and setup, repairs, preventive maintenance, and safety testing.

DRE, Inc., a premier surgical and medical equipment supplier, now offers a wide range of outside biomedical engineering services.

The DRE Biomedical Field Services Division offers installation and setup, equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, and safety testing, in addition to parts and equipment sales. DRE Biomedical Field Services has a professional team of certified engineers on staff to meet the needs of demanding medical facility environments all over the United States.

The division will be headed by Matt Cameron, who has more than a decade of experience as a biomed technician for DRE and for Louisville’s Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's HealthCare.

“Our technicians will make sure your machines are certified and working properly,” says Cameron. “We are experienced with a wide range of medical facility types.”

Beyond setting up and installing equipment purchased from DRE, the company’s technicians can manage or advise any operating room setup, including equipment purchased from other vendors.

“We know the equipment and we know the environment,” Cameron says.

DRE also offers Technology Assessment consulting, providing recommendations on equipment needs to better prepare clients for upcoming fiscal-year budgeting. As an added value to service contracts, DRE biomeds can tell if equipment is still supported, and can make recommendations on replacing obsolete or aged equipment.

As part of its on-site repair service, DRE biomeds will travel to locations to do assessments and testing, and to repair operating room and surgical equipment on an as-needed basis.

DRE also can manage the preventive maintenance of key equipment by setting schedules according to manufacturer recommendations, which ensures that a technician automatically will show up to perform preventive maintenance service. This asset management service allows medical staff to focus on the practice. Performing preventive maintenance on equipment not only saves money in the long run, it reduces downtime and liability issues.

DRE services a wide range of medical facilities, including Hospitals, Surgery Centers, Doctors’ Offices and Clinics, Universities, Research Facilities, Veterinary Clinics, Rehabilitation Centers, and all other medical related businesses where cost containment and equipment up time is important.

The company’s technicians are skilled with anesthesia machines, vaporizers, monitors, respiratory ventilators, operating room tables, operating room lights, electrosurgical units (cautery), smoke evacuators, defibrillators, suction devices, blanket warmers, infusion pumps, blood/fluid warmers and light sources.
