Tapestry Resorts’ Janeth Olachea Receives Prestigious 2011 ARDA “Spirit of Hospitality” Award

Multiple Tapestry Resorts Employees Recognized at Gala

Janeth Olachea was honored with the ARDA Circle of Excellence “Spirit of Hospitality” Award

“We have numerous dedicated and deserving team members at both the corporate and resort levels, and we are proud to have some of them acknowledged at this year’s ARDA Awards,” said John Small, chairman and CEO of Tapestry Resorts.

At the 2011 ARDA Awards Gala last night, Janeth Olachea was honored with the coveted ARDA Circle of Excellence (ACE) “Spirit of Hospitality” Award for her “leadership, creativity, honesty, positive attitude and willingness to ‘go the extra mile.’” Olachea was one of several employees of Tapestry Resorts, a full-service hospitality solutions company and division of ResortCom International, who were recognized at the event.

“We have numerous dedicated and deserving team members at both the corporate and resort levels, and we are proud to have some of them acknowledged at this year’s ARDA Awards,” said John Small, chairman and CEO of Tapestry Resorts. “Janeth in particular is a standout employee, who I have known for the past 12 years. She is the ideal winner of the ‘Spirit of Hospitality’ Award – an amazing person, magnificent leader and a significant asset to our company.”

Olachea serves as the general manager for Park Plaza Resort in Park City, Utah, which is one of the properties managed by Tapestry Resorts and among the most highly regarded resorts in the industry. Olachea, originally from La Paz, Mexico, is known for her hard work and dedication, both professionally and personally. Olachea has served as interim general manager for local properties The Lodge at Stillwater and Shadow Ridge Resort Hotel & Conference Center and for all three resorts consistently meets and usually exceeds all performance objectives. An inspiration to everyone, Olachea is also battling her second diagnosis of cancer and has opted to continue working through her treatment.

Additionally, Tapestry Resorts received an award for Owner/Customer Relations Team Member Carlos Lopez, who works out of Club Cala Resort in Humacao, Puerto Rico. Nominated by Resort General Manager Sem Cuevas, Lopez’s winning nomination entry details that he “has taken ownership of a number of key projects and processes in order to ensure that the resort is always raising expectations and accommodating guests.”

Tapestry Resorts had eight finalists for this year’s awards, including Administrative Staff Member (Cristy DePozo and Chris Lee); Rental Program Manager (Hannah Zulueta); Owner/Customer Relations Manager/Team Member (Erin Mauer); Resort Department Manager (Katharina Kaemmerer and Beverly McCabe); and Newsletter (VISTA Newsletter).

The annual ARDA Awards Program is produced by the American Resort Development Association. The program recognizes achievements in multiple categories and is open to all ARDA members and their agencies/vendors that have completed work on vacation ownership projects.
