With Mother’s Day fast approaching, what better way to celebrate than to treat Mom to a day out at the 1st Annual Tulip Festival & Mother’s Day Celebration, hosted by Honor’s Haven Resort & Spa in Ellenville, NY - Sunday, May 8th.

Whether its handcrafted items, personalized gifts, keepsakes or fudge, you’ll find unique and distinctive gifts from an array of local artists and craftspeople, who will be selling their works from 11AM – 4PM.

Visitors will be delighted by the energizing sounds of “Group 99”, an African Healing Drum band from Woodstock, NY, as well as a captivating performance by Wurtsboro’s Dance Emporium’s competitive dance team.

Members of the Wellness Center at Honor’s Haven will also be engaging guests with interactive yoga and tai chi demonstrations – aura readings and express facials will also be offered for a complete holistic experience.

In a brief interview, Julian Lee, General Manager at the resort was brimming over with enthusiasm. “I am very excited about the Tulip Festival and Mother’s Day Celebration. I, as well as the staff, are all looking forward to ushering in the wondrous colors of Spring and celebrating the beautiful women that have stood by and nurtured all of us throughout the course of our lives,” said Lee. “Our goal is to provide our guests with a unique and relaxing Mother’s Day experience where they can spend the day with loved ones, browse and shop for distinctive handmade gifts from regional artisans, sit and enjoy demonstrations by local musicians and dancers and dine amid some pretty fantastic views of the Shawangunk Mountains as well as the resort’s golf course and lake.”

Spoil Mom even more by taking a break from the festivities and enjoying a special Mother’s Day lunch in Honor’s Haven Resort & Spa’s Gaia Hall, featuring picturesque views of the resort’s world class golf course, sparkling lake and famous Shawangunk Mountains. This buffet style Lunch ($25 per adult & $13 per child ages 6-12 inclusive) will offer assorted dinner rolls, crisp salads and fresh pasta as well as meat, poultry & seafood options, all prepared by the resort’s classically trained Executive Chef. In addition, if you’re an avid photographer and love snapping off photos of wildlife, nature, flowers or people enjoying the outdoors, stop by the Front Desk to pick up an application for the Tulip Festival photography contest! Contestants may enter up to 2 photos (deadline and details can be found on the application). First place will be awarded a weekend stay for two in one of Resorts suites! The first place winner’s artwork will also be displayed on the resort’s website for the rest of the year! Second place will be provided with a weekend stay for two in Executive accommodations and third place a weekend stay in a Deluxe accommodations. Honorable mentions (fourth & fifth place) will be presented with a souvenir from the Honor’s Haven Gift Shop.

Of course, don’t forget to stop by the Zephyr Lounge for your favorite beverage before strolling the property and enjoying the more than 1,000 tulips adorning the resort’s beautifully manicured property.
