Mosquito Magnet® Taps into the Commercial Appeal of Google TV

HGTV, DIY and TLC networks are scheduled to air promotional television ads this spring for the country’s leading mosquito trap - Mosquito Magnet.

Google TV has been touted by its own CEO as being the biggest revolution in television since color television sets. And it’s soon to be a new advertising venue for Mosquito Magnet®, the No. 1 solution for safely controlling pesky mosquitoes. Slated to run April through June, just before the country’s busiest mosquito months, Mosquito Magnet’s 30-second commercial, “Pep Talk”, will air on three leading Google TV networks — HGTV, DIY and TLC.

“Without giving too much away, the commercial will actually be a sort of comedy in which you get a glimpse into the life of a family who is practically trapped by its panic and fear of thousands of mosquitoes, right in their own back yard,” says Kelly Howard, Category Development Associate for Mosquito Magnet®, whose parent company, Woodstream Corporation, offers multiple solutions for pest control. “While we’re having a lot of fun with this commercial, the reality is that every summer, many people feel it’s impossible to even venture into their yards because of the onslaught of mosquitoes that are just waiting to bite them. It’s a grim situation, and one that Mosquito Magnet can remedy with its scientifically proven trapping device and special attractants.”

In addition to the 30-second commercial that will run on Google TV, Mosquito Magnet plans to run a longer version on their website, (http://www.mosquitomagnet.com/tv). This “Director’s Cut” will expand on the comedic value of the shorter version, including extra scenes. The new commercial is part of a series of new web pages Mosquito Magnet is launching (http://www.mosquitomagnet.com/outdoor-living) to help consumers see how outdoor living can be enhanced with the use of a Mosquito Magnet. The pages include information on Mosquito Magnet traps and mosquito “fun” facts; as well as grilling recipes and outdoor family games to make outdoor living much more enjoyable.
