Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics (PIA) will be holding an official ribbon cutting at its newest location in Hagerstown, MD. The ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011.Guests will arrive at 10:00am and we anticipate speeches from PIA officials and Governor Martin O’Malley to begin at 10:30am. Immediately following will be the actual ribbon cutting ceremony with a photo opportunity. PIA Instructors will also be having live demonstrations of curriculum. Students who are enrolled for the first Hagerstown class will also be in attendance.
For over eighty years, the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics has been recognized as a premier training school for aviation maintenance. Many graduates have become high-level managers with major airlines, the FAA, and contract maintenance facilities. PIA is going to bring its history and tradition of excellence to Hagerstown, Md. Students will be able to take a 16 month Diploma program and become eligible to test for the FAA’s Airframe and Power plant Certification test.
