Solar Powered Remote Surveillance System

This new technology innovation offered by AvaLAN Wireless, Mobotix and Sloan could change the way remote surveillance is conducted in the future, said Matt Nelson , CEO of AvaLAN Wireless.

AvaLAN Wireless Systems, Inc., providers of outdoor long range industrial wireless Ethernet products, together with Mobotix, a leading pioneer in network camera technology and Sloan Security, the producers of the Genlux solar platform, have combined to offer a complete industrial grade turnkey stand alone remote surveillance system, to be shown at the ISC West Security Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. This new solution combines the best of each company’s technologies. The surveillance system utilizes a solar powered pole with a low power digital IP-based surveillance camera and a low power long range industrial Ethernet radio. The system can easily be deployed in emergency situations or permanently installed for longer term usage.

This complete standalone unit is an industry-first solution, providing vandal-proof secure remote surveillance with no power or cabling required. It offers customers the unique ability to capture megapixel video, process it on the solar pole and stream it back to a NAS system (Network Attached Storage) or view it live from anywhere in the world. This is accomplished with much lower costs than are typically associated with NVR/DVR technology. No other solution on the market offers the end user a leading-edge solar platform with megapixel video capture, on-board processing and wireless backhaul communication in one combination. Already adopted by major Fortune 100 customers for perimeter, off grid, security and surveillance, this solution promises to deliver what the remote surveillance and monitoring market has been seeking for years.

Live demonstrations will be held at the upcoming 2011ISC West Security Conference, AvaLAN’s Booth# 6057, April 6-8, 2011.
