EverGreen Data Continuity, Inc. has been awarded a Professional Services contract to assist Erie 1 BOCES in building and maintaining critical Business Continuity Plans for ongoing operations. Erie 1 BOCES previously selected EverGreen's award-winning Mitigator software for Business Continuity Management. The Professional Services contract award is for services related to EverGreen's Mitigator software.

BOCES is an acronym for Board of Cooperative Educational Services, a regional public education service organization. Established in 1948 by the state legislature, a BOCES provides quality, cost-effective educational services to school districts in New York State. The staff of the WNYRIC - a regional technology center housed at Erie 1 BOCES has been spearheading an initiative to provide Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery for the services provided to their partner school districts as well as other BOCES.

EverGreen removes the complexity and high cost of developing and managing business continuity and emergency plans for any crisis situation. Schools who receive federal funds for emergency management must be National Incident Management System (NIMS) compliant. All others should be compliant with PS-Prep requirements to ensure timely response in the event of a crisis.

Schools are an integral part of our communities and share the responsibility with local governments to have an emergency management and business continuity system that allows its personnel to manage any kind of crisis. Schools are not immune to experiencing a crisis and therefore need to be integrated into the National Incident Management System (NIMS).

The U.S. Department of Education (USDE) has established the Emergency Response and Crisis Management (ERCM) Technical Assistance Center to assist schools with the six phases of their emergency management programs: Prevention, Preparedness, Mitigation, Response, Continuity and Recovery. Evergreen's Mitigator software and supporting Professional Services are integrated with these requirements and are being used by many K-12 schools and universities across the United States today.

“We look forward to expanding our relationship with Erie 1 BOCES, they are a very forward thinking organization who understands the importance of Business Continuity Planning,” said Steve Burns, President of EverGreen Data Continuity, Inc.
