A Call to Arms at Web 2.0 Expo

ICE Web Filter officially launched its collaborative Internet management tool at last week’s Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco. Their software demonstration featured a surprise photo shoot and ICE-themed gifts, which turned out to be a big hit with Internet entrepreneurs and enthusiasts. The annual event, held at the Moscone Center, focused on the digital economy, social cloud computing and the future of the web.

ICE Web Filter is the first platform to introduce ‘social whitelisting,’ a community-based filtering solution for educators and parents that helps make it easier to manage and compile kid-safe web spaces.

To celebrate their launch at Web 2.0, ICE Web Filter teamed up with open{subnet} to create a rare experience for attendees: a fully equipped photo-op complete with backdrops, professional lighting and a few special props to complete the experience. Company reps also distributed branded foam shields and swords to booth visitors.

The shields signified how ICE Web Filter helps protect kids from harmful and inappropriate content online by building their Internet immunity. open{subnet}’s foam swords represented the platform’s power to ‘cut out’ all unwanted online content through social collaboration.

Together, the foam swords and shields inspired friendly duels in front of the booths’ interchangeable backdrops, which featured battling robots. Even representatives from Google, Yahoo!, Microsoft, OPENSRS and UberMedia joined in.

ICE Web Filter and open{subnet} held live demos at their booths to give visitors a closer look at their software and services. To learn more about ICE Web Filter, please visit For more information about open{subnet}’s services, please visit
