Most synthetic turf manufacturers punch holes in their backing for drainage. Holes are punched four to six inches apart and leave the majority of the backing non-permeable. Underlying base material often clogs the holes after installation. Additionally, hole-punched turf requires a separate weed barrier and further restricts drainage. MaxxFlow’s built-in weed barrier eliminates the additional drainage restriction.
