Today, the USO announced a unique partnership with Products for Good, under which the philanthropic business is committed to donating 100 percent of its profits to the USO, the nation’s largest military-centric charity.

The partnership, called the “Honor One, Help Many” initiative, will give Americans a tangible, meaningful way to support U.S. troops at home and abroad through the purchase of a unique line of commemorative gifts.

Products for Good’s service-focused product line — from commemorative coins to customizable four-coin shadowboxes — features liberated Iraqi coins that symbolize freedom and the sacrifices made in order to preserve it. The patriotic products are assembled at Cleveland Vocational Industries, a facility in North Carolina that provides work opportunities for mentally and physically challenged individuals.

“We are excited to be selected as the primary beneficiary of Products for Good’s donations,” said USO senior vice president and chief development officer Kelli Seely. “In addition to helping the USO sustain current programs, the partnership will provide funding for future endeavors to help supply troops with morale-boosting resources and recreational services.”

Seely noted that the initiative will benefit two critical USO programs: the USO Warrior Family Support Centers, in which a wounded soldier’s family can stay together during the rehabilitation process, and its United Through Reading’s Military Program, through which a serviceman or servicewoman can be recorded reading a book to his or her child, and the DVD and book can then be mailed to the child back home.

Products for Good co-founder Lane Ostrow said the “Honor One, Help Many” initiative aligns two organizations with a common goal: honoring, thanking and supporting men and women in uniform.

“We are incredibly excited to be partners in service with the USO as it enters a new chapter of its service history,” Ostrow said. “The USO does so many things that most of us are not aware of, so our ability to support their efforts is a huge honor and responsibility.”

About the USO
The USO (United Service Organizations) lifts the spirits of America’s troops and their families millions of times each year at hundreds of places worldwide. We provide a touch of home through centers at airports and military bases, top-quality entertainment and innovative programs and services. We also provide critical support to those who need us most, including forward-deployed troops and their families, wounded warriors and their families and the families of the fallen.

The USO is a private, nonprofit organization, not a government agency. We rely on the generosity of our volunteers and donors. In addition to individual donors and other corporate sponsors, the USO is supported by Worldwide Strategic Partners: American Airlines, AT&T Inc., BAE Systems, The Boeing Company, Clear Channel Communications, The Coca-Cola Company, Lockheed Martin, Microsoft Corporation, Northrop Grumman Corporation, Procter & Gamble and TriWest Healthcare Alliance. We are also supported through the United Way and Combined Federal Campaign (CFC-11381). To join us in this patriotic mission and to learn more about the USO, please visit http://www.uso.org.
