PEX Pocket Crimpers are increasingly popular with BOTH pros and D-I-Yers nationwide.
Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) April 09, 2011
All across the U.S., the PEX Pocket Crimper from Superior Tool is now seen as an alternative to heavy, bulky, PEX crimpers.
“PEX Pocket Crimpers are increasingly popular among both professional plumbers and do-it-yourselfers nationwide,” said Superior CEO Jeff White. “It is simple to use, and, retailing at $37.91 it costs less than a third of the cost of the big, bulky crimping tools that previously were the only option.”
The crimper is now available extensively – at Lowe’s nationwide, Menard’s, Ace, Do-it-Best, Sears.com, amazon.com, Sutherland Lumber, Jerry’s Home Improvement, Mills Fleet and Farm and others, and also through industrial distributors including Fastenal, Orgill and W.W. Grainger.
“This ingenious little item is a perfect addition to our line of professional plumbing tools,” adds White. “It represents a real breakthrough in the use of PEX plumbing tubing, which has obvious advantages in many applications and is increasing in terms of popularity every day.”
Only six inches long and weighing less than two pounds, the new tool crimps all three common sizes of PEX black copper ring -- 3/8”, 1/2” and 3/4” -- simply and with no adjustments. All crimps can be made using standard 10” locking pliers, and testing crimps is easy using a small gauge that comes with the tool.
Easier to Use – And Ideal for Tight Locations
The pocket crimper is simple to use, and is especially advantageous in tight locations because of its small size. The user simply slides the ring over the tubing 1/8” to ¼” from the end, inserts the fitting, positions the crimper over the ring, and squeezes the tool closed with locking pliers in 4-5 small stages. Then, the Go/No-Go gauge can be slipped over the ring to test for proper crimping.
“This product has great benefits for all different kinds of users,” says White. “For D-I-Yers who simply want to make a few crimps and don’t want to spend $130 on a crimp tool, it’s perfect. For professionals, it’s so much more handy and portable for quick crimp connecting than the big crimpers…and for MRO workers, it fits easily into a tool box and is ready to go for quick repair and maintenance jobs.”
The pocket crimper works as well as the more expensive long-handled crimpers. It is designed and tested to meet the same ASTM (American Society for Testing Materials) specification
Made in the USA…Made Strong…Backed by a Lifetime Guarantee
“This durable product is all-metal construction -- made in the USA from solid hardened alloy steel. We stand behind it solidly with a Lifetime Guarantee. And, unlike the larger crimpers which have pins that eventually will wear and require adjustment, no adjustments to our unit are ever needed,” adds White. The patent is pending.
“User satisfaction has been outstanding,” says White. Below are some typical user comments:
- “The PEX Pocket Crimper was cheaper than purchasing a regular pair and works great in small places.”
- “This tool is quick to use, works great, and is a great value.”
- "Your crimper works very well and is easy to use. Fits in those tight spots up in the floor joists very well . . . works great. Thanks again.”
The crimper comes in an 8” X 7” X 5/8” blister pack. In addition to the tool and gauge, a carrying pouch is also included in the package. The product is merchandised in a space-efficient, 6-pack display unit.
