The world’s first truly proactive monitoring software for security operations continues to evolve. Users are invited to evaluate the first of several planned debugging tools in its newest release.

We have always been about providing network security administrators with tools to make their jobs easier.

indeni, the leader in security operations monitoring, today announced the release of v. 1.6.0 of its flagship security operations monitoring software, which adds debugging reports to the system’s already sophisticated troubleshooting capabilities. “We have always been about providing network security administrators with tools to make their jobs easier,” says Yonadav Leitersdorf, indeni CEO. “indeni was designed to head off network issues before they can actually cause problems. It flags errors before they occur and saves administrators hundreds of hours in remediating them. With the new version we have begun rolling out new functionality in the software to make debugging really tough issues easier.”

Users will find a new Investigate tab in the software’s main menu, with a Device Debug screen that generates detailed debugging reports for monitored devices. The main screen displays errors at a glance and provides access to plain text reports for each reportable item. Administrators can then use the reports to reconfigure devices displaying errors.

This release of the software also includes many new and additional alerts, such as reporting when the firewall software is approaching its end of support date, known hosts file configuration errors, and log buffer issues.

New features in v. 1.6.0 of indeni include:

  • Alerts listing NIC names now also include the duplicity and speed for each NIC, resulting in faster resolution of the alert
  • Monitored Devices can now be displayed by management hierarchy as well as by device type and cluster. Switching to this view will display the management servers in the root of the tree, with each server’s gateways shown under the server.
  • Updated Objects and Users tabs for easier use

“We encourage active feedback from our users and listen carefully,” says Leitersdorf. “This release incorporates a lot of things clients wanted to see, or that made the system even easier to use. We work with hundreds of security administrators around the world with mission-critical systems, and coming from that background ourselves, we know how important it is to have a tool that lets you get right to the heart of the problem quickly.”

Interested parties can evaluate the system by registering as a user on the indeni website to gain access to the demonstration guide and software. Setting up a trial is free, requires little time or effort, and allows users to see a fully–functional version of indeni in operation.
