2011 Awards announced, the Web’s top beauty advice site reaching 3 million women per month, today announces the winners in the second annual Awards.

Voting was held in March 2011. Nearly 250,000 votes were cast for favorite beauty products from among 340 nominees. Nominees were selected based on those that had received the highest consumer ratings over the past three years.

Home to the most comprehensive database of beauty product reviews on the web, Total Beauty provides women free access to unbiased information on beauty products. The winning products receive either the Award Readers' Choice seal of approval or if selected by the editorial team, they receive the Award Rising Star Editors' Pick seal. Both seals will be seen by millions of women on product packaging and in advertising.

The reader voting led to some wins that demonstrate huge consumer passion and a strong following by women for certain favorite beauty products. Olay Regenerist Regenerating Serum won in the Anti-Aging category by a landslide, and Bare Escentuals swept eight out of 18 Makeup categories. Other classic favorites like St. Ives Apricot Scrub (Exfoliant category), Clinique Happy (Fragrance category) and Clean & Clear Acne Spot Treatment (Acne Fighter category) were also winners.

In order to determine the Rising Star Editors' Picks, rigorous testing of newer-to-the-market products (those launched after September 2010) occurred from January through April. The 62 product categories have winners from big brands like Clinique and Physicians Formula to smaller ones like Amala and Cricket.

And in addition, for the first time, two special awards were given, they are: Top Drugstore Brand and Top Prestige Brand. These awards applaud brands that have launched numerous innovative products that give our editors a lot to type about.
