“We definitely agree with Kiplinger. Life sciences is now a catalyst in bringing new jobs to Flint and Diplomat is committed to playing a major role in that job creation,” said Phil Hagerman, President and CEO of Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy.
Flint, Mich (Vocus/PRWEB) April 14, 2011
Kiplinger released their Comeback Cities for 2011 and Flint, Michigan, made the list, due in part to the efforts of Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy.
On their website Kiplinger stated, “The health care and life sciences industries are giving long-suffering Flint a shot in the arm. Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy relocated its headquarters from the suburbs to the city, using a former auto assembly site for its offices, while both the city's public hospitals, Hurley Medical Center, and McLaren Regional Medical Center are bulking up.”
“We definitely agree with Kiplinger. Life sciences is now a catalyst in bringing new jobs to Flint and Diplomat is committed to playing a major role in that job creation,” said Phil Hagerman, President and CEO of Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy. “Moving our headquarters to the former GM Tech Center has been a game changer for us and a tremendous benefit on many levels. The excitement of a new facility is great alone, but the pick-up in capabilities the new headquarters offers- both for now and in the future- has the entire company focused on growth.”
Kiplinger cited the following data for the Flint Metropolitan area:
Current unemployment rate: 12.5%
Forecast job growth for 2011: 2.6%
Other cities selected were: Chattanooga TN, Nashville TN, Orlando Fla, Jacksonville Fla, Charlotte N.C., Las Vegas, Phoenix, Portland Ore, Seattle, San Jose Calif..
