Bright Horizons Family Solutions, a provider of employer-sponsored child care, early education, and work/life solutions based in Watertown, Massachusetts, has made the 2011 Honor Roll for the Center for Companies That Care for the fourth year in a row.
The Honor Roll, a national list recognizing employers for outstanding workplace practices and active community involvement, includes privately-held and publicly-traded organizations, as well as not-for-profit employers. Bright Horizons demonstrates the 10 Characteristics of a Company that Cares including appreciating employees, encouraging work/life balance, and giving back to the community. These characteristics are the standard for companies recognized on the Honor Roll and define the standard for all organizations that strive to be known as top places to work.

Bright Horizons started the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children 12 year ago to fulfill the organization’s mission to “make a difference in the lives of children and families where we live and work.” The Foundation is a nonprofit organization that engages Bright Horizons’ employees, clients, families, friends, and community partners, and their passion for meeting the needs of all children. The Foundation’s flagship program, creates play rooms called “Bright Spaces” for children in homeless shelters so that they may have comforting places to grow and play. There are now more than 200 Bright Spaces, all created and supported by Bright Horizons employees, families and employer partners.

Honor Roll recipients will be officially honored at a 360° engagement conference in Portland in May, where Joseph Grenny, the author of “Crucial Conversations,” is keynoting. Many Honor Roll organizations will be sharing their best practices during the conference. It is open to the public.
