It’s leading edge, it's clean, and it’s easy to adapt to almost any frame out there.
Toronto, Ontario (PRWEB) April 18, 2011
For the first time, the technology behind Daymak’s new electric bicycle, The Shadow Ebike, will be available to Original Equipment Manufacturers in kit format.
This new kit version will allow for OEM deals to be made, paving the way for increased sales and revenue and creating relationships that both companies and customers will benefit from. By using the Shadow Ebike kit, and using the proprietary Daymak Drive Technology in their bikes, other manufacturers will be able to market and distribute it worldwide, making it more readily available through more outlets.
Aldo Baiocchi, co-inventor of the Shadow Ebike, says, “the kit version offers value over all competitors. It’s leading edge, it's clean, and it’s easy to adapt to almost any frame out there without the manufacturer having to re-design around the ebike. Wouldn't you like to see your favourite Raleigh, Schwinn, or specialized bikes have ebike versions with the original design? The kit could be installed with a quick release method, thus giving the riders both choices on the go," continues Baiocchi.
Mike Chow, also co-inventor, says, "with the Shadow Ebike Kit, there is no need for brackets or racks to mount the batteries, or cumbersome wires to install pedal assist. Thanks to its unique clean design, there are no wires left exposed, and nothing is added on the frame to support the weight of the kit."
The Ebike industry has seen annual growth rates between 10% – 25% worldwide, and the global bicycle market shows significant growth revenues exceeding $61 Billion through 2011. According to the Bicycle Trade Association of Canada, bicycle sales by Independent Bicycle Dealers have surpassed a quarter of a billion dollars in retail value. In Canada alone, in 2010, wholesale dollar sales grew to $179,327,761 for an estimated retail market value of $251,058,855.
The Shadow Ebike is a leading edge power-assisted bicycle with an integrated wireless design. It is the first wireless electrical bike featuring wireless brakes, wireless throttle, and a wireless pedal assist system, with an integrated battery and motor design powered by the proprietary Daymak Drive Technology. In terms of evolution, the Shadow is setup for future upgrades to interact with your iPhone, Blackberry or your Google Phone and computer.
Tested in Canadian climate and terrain, the first Shadow Ebike will feature a 350W motor with a 36V 12ah lithium polymer battery, and will use frequency-hopping spread spectrum technology, ISM Wireless Frequency (2.4 GHz, to prevent interference). There will also be a 250W version with 36V12ah lithium battery specifically designed for the European market.
