LAKE MARY, FL (Vocus/PRWEB) April 20, 2011
Access MediQuip, the nation’s first and largest provider of comprehensive surgical implant management solutions, today announced the appointment of Jonathan Buffa as executive vice president of client services.
Jon is responsible for meeting the needs of Access MediQuip’s clients, including specifically health care payers across the country. He leads a team responsible for implementation of new clients and expanding programs to grow and continuously improve value to existing ones.
“Jon was part of my team at Magellan and I know firsthand the kind of dedication and results he brings to meeting client needs, as well a positive team attitude and a strong business acumen all of which will further strengthen our organization,” said Prakash Patel, M.D., Access MediQuip’s CEO. “He’s a great addition to our senior management team.”
Prior to joining Access MediQuip, Jon served as vice president of network account management and product development for National Imaging Associates (NIA), which is owned by Magellan Health Services, where he was responsible for building strategic partnerships with NIA clients and providing direction on the development and implementation of new products. He also served as an executive at CareCore National, a specialty management company, where he had overall responsibility for client management and network development in the radiology benefit management division. Previously Jon served as director of vendor management at Oxford Health Plans, where he was responsible for outsourced specialty management relationships. He holds an MBA in health care administration from Baruch College/Mount Sinai School of Medicine and a bachelor's degree in economics from Binghamton University.
“Access MediQuip, with its focus on surgical implant management, is an exciting specialty health management company. Surgical implants is one of the top unmanaged high cost, high trend drivers for payers and an area that therefore can greatly benefit from Access’ full suite of managed care solutions that improve quality and safety, and reduce costs,” Jon said. “I’m looking forward to working with the entire team to meet and exceed the needs and expectations of our current and future clients.”
