American Century Investments was honored at the 5th annual Excellence In Financial Literacy Education (“EIFLE”) Awards, presented in Chicago on April 20 at the 2011 Institute for Financial Literacy conference. The firm received the “Education Program of the Year” award in the General Children’s Category for its Yes, You Can – Financial Education curriculum. And, for its longstanding support of financial education and the breadth of offerings through the YesYouCanOnline.info website and other venues, the firm also was awarded the for-profit “Organization of the Year” award.

The Yes, You Can Curriculum is a personal finance educational program developed by American Century Investments that puts students in real-life situations where they can apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Yes, You Can is based on the beliefs of James Stowers, founder of American Century Investments and co-founder, with Virginia Stowers, of the Stowers Institute for Medical Research.

“We’re pleased to accept this award,” said Brad Cloverdyke, vice president human resources for American Century Investments. “Financial education is a passion of Mr. Stowers and is an important part of our contribution to the community. We believe one of the greatest gifts we can offer is the opportunity for young people to learn how to achieve financial independence.”
