Bethesda, Maryland – Friday, April 22, 2011 – Catapult Technology, Ltd. (Catapult), a leading Information Technology (IT) contractor to the federal government, has won the Administrator's Award for Mentorship Excellence in recognition of Catapult’s participation in the U.S. General Services Administration's (GSA) Mentor-Protégé program. The award was presented to Catapult and its protégé, Dexisive, Inc. by GSA Administrator Martha Johnson at GSA’s first Small Business Mentor-Protégé Conference on Friday, April 22nd.

Catapult, a Service Disabled Veteran-Owned (SDVO) contracting firm, was recognized for advising Dexisive, Inc., a Women-Owned Small Business/Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business.

John Scarcella, Senior Vice President, Enterprise Systems, is the Catapult liaison to Dexisive. “As a veteran-owned business, being a part of the GSA Mentor-Protégé program is an integral part of Catapult’s sourcing plans as we help small businesses with assistance and knowledge across a broad range of business requirements so that they can effectively compete,” said Scarcella. “We are honored to win this important award, as it indicates that we are making the right moves as a mentor assisting a smaller business to grow and succeed in the federal marketplace.”

As a Mentor, one of the key criteria to participate in the GSA Mentor-Protégé Program is to be a large business prime contractor that is currently performing under an approved subcontracting plan as required by Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 19.7.

Catapult has an ongoing relationship with GSA. The company is a prime contractor with GSA on two contracts: the GSA Infrastructure Technology Global Operations (GITGO) contract, providing enterprise consolidation services to the Office of the CIO serving 15,000 GSA employees; and the GSA IT Modification contract, providing the Project Management Office (PMO) managing a team that is implementing the results of an IT modernization study conducted by Catapult for GSA in December 2009.
