New picture book follows the exciting adventure of the Crayon family

From the mother-daughter team of Stephanie Ash and Abbey Lauren Ash Behan comes a delightful tale that will captivate young readers. They can follow the Diary of a Crayon as it reveals the wonderful purpose of the Crayon family.

Narrated by the main character, Red Crayon, Diary of a Crayon tells the story about a box of eight crayons that comes into the possession of a young girl named Sally. Red doesn’t understand his purpose in life and struggles with his confidence as one after another, his family members are chosen from their home and taken on adventures. His brothers and sisters return to their home, shorter but happier and very secretive. As the tallest crayon left, Red feels unloved and useless. His siblings try to reassure him and tell him not to worry. It is only after he is chosen for the most special project of all that Red finally discovers the meaning of his life and understands the family secret.

Filled with vividly colored illustrations that will capture readers’ attention, Diary of a Crayon is a vibrant tale that teaches them that everything and everyone has a purpose in life. An engaging story that’s fun to reread over and over again, this charming picture book will give children and parents an enjoyable bonding time.

Readers will be able to enjoy an animated version of this book on iPad, available soon at Apple iStores. Diary of a Crayon is also enrolled in Xlibris’ Bookstore Returnability Program, which gives booksellers the convenient option of returning excess stocks through Ingram Distribution. About the Authors
Stephanie Ash is a Canadian-born mother of two beautiful children, Abbey and Brad. She is a Board Certified Obstetrician Gynecologist in practice for fourteen years. This story came to life one day after her ten-year-old daughter Abbey came home from school and announced that she had to write a story. She decided that it would be the "Diary of a Crayon". Dr. Ash’s immediate reaction was that it was going to be a very long night. Rather, it proved to be a truly magical, memorable evening working with her daughter and watching her excitement grow as “Red Crayon” struggled with his identity and eventually discovered his importance and acceptance in the world.

Abbey Lauren Ash Behan is a ten-year-old girl from Michigan, who is excited to be starting fifth grade at Hughes Elementary. She has two turtles, a dog named Teddy, and two fish. She loves to read, write poems and stories, dance, and tease her older brother Brad.
