From author Alejandro Galvan comes an engaging tale that speaks of love, the human soul, and society. He dares to spill his sentiments on the ills of the world and the ironies of living in "My First Murder," his newly released book made available through Xlibris.
The English version of the author’s other book, "Mi Primer Asesinato," "My First Murder" takes readers into the busy streets of a town as seen through the eyes of one perceptive man. Behind this seemingly normal looking place where many devoted Catholics dwell are stories and secrets concealed by friendly smiles and helping hands. There is Mary Sola, a young woman who struggles to strut chin up even though she knows that the whole town is talking about her pregnancy. She herself doesn’t know who the father of the child she’s carrying is. This fact aggravates the situation and her parents, Don Manny and Maria could only curse and feel ashamed of her. Such is also the case of Hellen Joshua. But unlike Mary, Hellen is very well aware of who got her pregnant. She has everything figured out. She is to marry the father of the child, the only man she loves and the one who has promised her forever. The thread that connects all characters in this little town is the Reverend Joshua. He is a very pleasant man who always keeps a smile on his face and who always reminds the townspeople that all the answers to their earthly confusion is found in the Scriptures. But will these personalities really be saved?
Craftily written, dramatic in details, and often provocative, "My First Murder" will hook readers from first page to the last. Ultimately, it is a novel that shows how the social connotations that the characters bring is a reflection of the realities that each decade’s contemporaries face.
This book will be featured at the 2011 BookExpo America in New York City, NY on May 26-28, 2011. For more information on this book, interested parties may log on to http://www.Xlibris.com.
About the Author
Alejandro Galvan was born and raised in Santo Domingo city. As an artist, he has discovered that the true nature of man is not defined in a social setting, but temporary. He is an anachronistic detail of thought, a definite line of a pen forever unknown and a lover of his experiences that are the marriage of reason and the people around him.
