Cardiff Holdings Corp., through its two companies, Source One Direct and Shoreline Business Solutions, announced today that they have begun the process of being EMV Certified.

“Our focus has always been to help our customers stay ahead of the technology curve. We understand as an organization that it isn’t a question of if EMV technology is coming to the United States, it’s when.” - Paul Polus, President & CEO of Cardiff

Cardiff Holdings Corp., through its two companies, Source One Direct and Shoreline Business Solutions, announced today that they have begun the process of being EMV Certified through VISA and MasterCard, and should be fully compliant and operational by the end of this year.

EMV, the global standard for inter-operation of integrated circuit cards, is widely regarded as the most secure and convenient form of payment outside of the United States. In an effort to provide its customers with this emerging technology, Cardiff Holdings is well along in becoming one of the few EMV compliant card fulfillment facilities in the United States. Paul Polus, Chief Executive Officer of Cardiff spoke about the new direction adding, “Our focus has always been to help our customers stay ahead of the technology curve. We understand as an organization that it isn’t a question of if EMV technology is coming to the United States, it’s when.”

The pressure on the U.S. to migrate to EMV has become much more intense in the past couple of years because of troubles in inter-operability for international travelers. Coupled with the shift of fraud to non-EMV markets, where the security is thought to be more vulnerable, U.S. Banks and other financial entities have begun to ask the tough questions of their processors and vendors. Right now, U.S. travelers are frequently being declined for their purchases when presenting a non-EMV card while overseas. For many Financial Institutions this is happening in record numbers.

“When we heard that many of our clients’ customers were experiencing problems with their magnetic stripe cards when traveling abroad, we knew right away we needed to assist them with this problem,” said Richard W. Anderson, President & CEO of Shoreline, a Cardiff Company. “Combined, Shoreline and Source One have more than 30 years of experience in the payments space, which is enabling us to draw on our vast resources to implement this solution as quickly and efficiently as possible.”
