One of the leading safety professionals in the transportation world, Rose McMurray, is joining FDRsafety as Chief Transportation Advisor and will help lead the company’s Transportation Safety Division.

McMurray retired Jan. 1 as Assistant Administrator and Chief Safety Officer of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration at the U.S. Department of Transportation. In that role, she oversaw and evaluated the agency’s safety programs, regulations and policies.

She was also responsible for overseeing the implementation of CSA 2010, a program to re-engineer the enforcement and compliance process for motor carriers. CSA 2010 includes a new Safety Measurement System that quantifies the on-road performance of motor carriers so that the Motor Carrier Safety Administration can identify unsafe carriers, prioritize them for intervention and monitor their compliance.

This new system is a big change for motor carriers and will affect their exposure to enforcement actions and the way they do business, as well as safety on the highways.

McMurray will advise FDRsafety clients on understanding CSA 2010 and will work with them on improving their scores.

“We are extremely excited to have Rose on board,” said Fred Rine, CEO of FDRsafety, a full-service workplace safety consulting company. “Rose is a leader in the field of transportation safety and will bring tremendous expertise and knowledge of DOT to our clients.”

McMurray and Rine together will lead FDRsafety’s Transportation Safety Division. Rine also brings a deep background in transportation safety, having created the safety program at FedEx and served as its Managing Director for many years.

“FDRsafety is one of nation’s leading experts in providing safety consulting and I am proud to be associated with the company,” McMurray said.

FDRsafety’s Tranportation Divison advises clients on a range of issues, including CSA 2010, safety program development and safety awareness training for drivers. For more information about these services, please contact FDRsafety at 1-888-755-8010 or info(at)fdrsafety(dot)com.
