Springfield, MO (PRWEB) April 25, 2011
Friday morning six truckloads of steel totaling over 230,000 pounds and two truckloads of insulation arrived at Convoy of Hope’s World Distribution Center in Springfield, Mo.
Today workers will begin loading the steel and other materials into shipping containers bound for Haiti, where they will be used to complete construction on Convoy of Hope’s 35,000-square-foot warehouse that will hold six million meals.
“The warehouse will enable us to continue to grow our operations as we reach out to thousands of children and families in Haiti,” says Kevin Rose, director of Children’s Feeding Initiatives for Convoy of Hope.
A team of more than a dozen volunteers from Colorado and Minnesota will assist with the loading process.
